Hi Misilla ,,, that looks like a real nice set up you have there … is it i a room or the garage ? I can’t wait to follow once you put them outside … I’m in zone 7a, so it will take a while longer . Have a great weekend !

I started both my microgreen and hydro learning with those very same fixtures and lights. I can tell you that they absolutely work!. I have since switched over to the LED version.. as they they are much lighter in weight, and use far less electricity per light.. I've doubled my lights, so this was a economics move. But if you're just starting out.. those lights and fixtures will absolutely work!
You are absolutely correct about keeping the light about 2-4 inches above them in the beginning.. then once they get that second set of leaves..and start growing..This often around the 3rd week or so, you can pull the light up several more inches.. Around the 4th week… you can have your lights about 6 to 8 ".. and continue raise up about 1" or so each week after that. I would still provide 10 hours of light on..generally speaking. ..I'm referencing my info for short cycle leafy green edible plants. Those which go well beyond 45 days.. and or are fruiting… require some different approaches.. They start out about the same.. but around that 30 day mark.. things change..so you have to take note about that.

I have little to no luck on growing from seed. Most of the time mold starts to grow if they don’t ever germinate at all. I usually purchase a few sprouts from Walmart. Under $6 each. I got two raspberries and a bag of strawberry sprouts for about $3 for 10. Hope too see results. I can’t master it like you. Trail and error I suppose.
